Chained Soldier Officially Confirms Season 2 - Anime Manga Addicts

The first season, produced by the esteemed animation studio Seven Arcs, premiered in Winter 2024, captivating audiences for 12 episodes. Adapted from the ongoing manga by Takahiro and Youhei Takemura, which began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in January 2019, "Chained Soldier" throws viewers into a world forever changed by the emergence of "Mato" – a monstrous dimension overflowing with deadly creatures known as Shuuki. 

Faced with this existential threat, humanity has undergone a radical shift. A new matriarchal society has arisen, with women wielding the power of special fruits from Mato to combat the Shuuki menace. This shift has relegated men to the fringes of society, leaving them powerless in a world dominated by female warriors.

Enter Yuuki Wakura, a young man haunted by the five-year disappearance of his sister during a Mato disaster. Suddenly finding himself inexplicably transported to Mato, Yuuki faces a gruesome end at the hands of the Shuuki. However, hope arrives in the form of Kyouka Uzen, a skilled but ostracized warrior leading the Seventh Unit of the Anti-Demon Corps. Despite her exceptional abilities, Kyouka is undervalued by her peers due to their unconventional nature. 

Thrusted into a life-or-death situation, Kyouka forms an unlikely pact with Yuuki, granting him a slave ring that binds him to her and allows him to utilize a portion of her power. Together, this mismatched duo must fight for survival in the demon metropolis, navigating the dangers of Mato and the complexities of their newfound partnership. 

The news of Season 2 comes shortly after the release of the 15th volume of the manga by Shueisha on February 2nd, 2024. For English readers, Yen Press has secured the licensing rights, with the sixth volume hitting shelves in January 2024 and the seventh volume scheduled for release on April 16th, 2024. 

Sentai Filmworks successfully secured the streaming rights for the first season, offering it as a simulcast on HIDIVE. With a captivating story, intense action sequences, and a unique world-building concept, "Chained Soldier" has quickly garnered a devoted fanbase.
